Carrying on the Family Tradition
Dr. Lori Andochick was initially drawn to dentistry when she began working with her father, Dr. Edward Andochick, at his Frederick practice when she was in ninth grade.
After working as a dental hygienist, she decided to pursue a career as a dentist and graduated from the West Virginia University School of Dentistry with honors. Recently, she’s celebrated two major milestones: she took over her father’s practice after his retirement last year and in April she celebrated her 25th anniversary as a practicing dentist.
A Frederick native, Dr. Andochick knows a lot of people—and their smiles—in the Frederick area. “It’s nice to have patients I’ve known from growing up in the community,” she said. “And it’s fun seeing the growth occurring in Frederick, as it’s nice meeting many new residents.”
Dr. Andochick takes an empathetic approach to her work and wants her patients to feel comfortable with her. “It’s important they trust that I will educate them so they understand their treatment options.” Part of her approach includes focusing on long-term care and using conservative treatment plans.
Serving the Frederick community through Dr. Lori Andochick Dental, she has continued her family’s 50-year dental legacy. Her success has been evident: She was a Best of the Best top-three finalist in her first year after taking over the family practice. This goes to show that she maintains some of the best smiles in the Frederick area.
