Holy moly, spring is here. Or, at least so it feels. Finally. It’s a First Saturday. It’s something called Mayfest<\/a>. It’s supposed to be warm. There’s a boxing match. There’s a horse race. There’s playoff basketball. There’s playoff hockey. There’s golf. There’s baseball. There’s the NFL Draft. Again: Holy moly, spring is here. And so is the music. We have a full weekend of sounds\u00a0kicking off tonight at the Blue Sky with both an open mic and the zaniness of the Amish Outlaws. Also of note: The Windtalker will be at The Hill Chapel. Tomorrow night, something called the As 1 Band will be taking the Hard Times Cafe stage here in town (while Alien Ant Farm is scheduled to take the same venue’s stage in Hagerstown. Yes. Whatever you’re thinking – we’re thinking that, too). Up The Chain<\/a>, ye of Video Of The Day lore, will be at Cafe Nola tomorrow night with The Dawn Drapes.\u00a0Tabasco Bustelo (above) will be rocking and rolling at The Opera House in Shepherdstown. And then Saturday has The Woo-Yeahs<\/a> releasing a CD over in Charles Town, a slew of people at Eveready Square, and, of course, a former “Voice” contestant at The Cellar Door. There’s Braham Noodles. There’s the Dan McGuire Band. There’s Eclipse. There’s the Dang Gang. There’s Muskrat Sally. And there’s Joseph and all his Beasts. It should be a beautiful weekend, friends. Get up, get out, and do something, as Macy Gray would say. Bring us those flowers, May.<\/p>\n
