The above guy? His name is Doug Alan Wilcox. The below guy? His name is Todd C. Walker.
Why do we share these two videos on this fantastic Tuesday afternoon? Glad you asked. Because they will split the bill at Frederick Playlist’s first-ever Frederick Playlist Presents … event set for Friday afternoon along Carroll Creek. Now, what’s Frederick Playlist Presents … ? Again, so, so glad you asked. The Downtown Frederick Partnership approached us a little while ago, asking if we’d like to be involved with a brand new event they are launching called Movie Night On The Creek. Held the third Friday each month for the rest of the summer (July, August and September), the fine people over there are going to set up a big screen, open the beer tent for business, and show a movie. Where are they showing it? You guessed it: Along the creek. The film begins to roll at 9 p.m. and the first installment will be “The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty.”
The movie is free, but you have to be 21 to get in (because what’s a movie without access to a beer tent? Duh). The afternoon music, however? That’s open to any and everyone who has ears, legs, arms, a heartbeat, and anything else in between. So, if you dig what you hear above, come check us out Friday afternoon down by the creek. The festivities kick off at about 2 p.m. and if everything goes well, they should last for a few hours or so. We’ll be giving away hand-fans, beer koozies and other goodies, so honestly: What’s not to love? Plus, if you – yes, you! – happen to be a musician yourself and are looking to get your name out, we’d love to hear what you’re up to.
So, have a quick listen to Mr. Wilcox and Mr. Walker, check out our giveaway for two free tickets to Saturday’s Flying Dog Summer Sessions concert featuring Lucero and Brooks Long And The Mad Dog No Good, and stop on by our tiny operation if you happen to be downtown at any point Friday afternoon. Remember: We’re always looking to make new friends!
