Ohhhhh, man, we love us some Hell Yeah Babies. Not sure if you checked out their debut LP, but its darn, darn good. And, thankfully for Frederick, they are coming to Guido’s this weekend because they got … you know … some Frederick ties. And honestly: You oughta adjust your weekend plans right flipping now. So, so sugary sweet. So, so good. Also … well … in case you forgot, SoulXChange played this year’s Frederick Music Showcase, and their first show back in town since that fateful February night is this weekend at Cafe Nola. So, it might be a good idea to drop in there. Why? Because they slayed at the Weinberg, so they’re going to slay at Nola. Elsewhere this weekend … hey, it’s Easter! So, there’s that. Because of as much, it appears the music side of things will be a little more low key than normal, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be some fantastic things to check out in addition to what we’ve already mentioned. For instance, did you see our Q&A with Zeppelin & Company this week? Those guys are coming to The Blue Side and that should be super fun. Zydeco Jed is headed to Barley & Hops and really: Zydeco music is wayyyyyy fun. So, give the dude some love. Brooklyn’s Fat Heaven will be playing at Guido’s with Samuel Powers and a two-piece band that likes Pyramids. And then there’s Devil’s Reef, which sounds ominous. Goodbye, March. Hello, April. We’re going to shut it down for a few days next week, so … miss us? Maybe? Hopefully? Please? Hey. We’ll miss you. Loves and hugs.

You remember More To Monroe, right? They were on Warped Tour in 2016. They played the never-forgotten Skate Jam. They were on the road to legend … and then their singer decided to go to college. Nothing wrong with that, of course. It’s just not rock and roll. Anyway, the rest of the band has found a new singer and reformed under the name “Goner.” Goner is going to headline October’s installment of Friday Night Fights at the Frederick Rock School and not only should you care, but you should also go to, you know, check it out. We recently caught up with Goner guitarist Sam Smisek to talk about the band’s new name, what they’re listening to nowadays and why Frederick is hard up to find and establish a music scene of its own.
