Here’s something we realized far too late today: Miss Tess is coming to The Opera House over in Shepherdstown tonight! We had a chance to see her at Cafe Nola a few years ago and all memories conclude that she was fantastic. Thus, the above video. Elsewhere this weekend, we have two great groups that are playing in two great places over the next four days, so you have no excuse to miss them. Those bands? New God and The Appleseed Collective. Both will be at Cafe Nola (the former on Friday night, the latter on Sunday), and both will be in Shepherdstown (the former tonight and the latter on Friday night). If you go through this weekend without seeing either of them, you are going through this weekend without fun. And who doesn’t want fun? That’s what we thought. Also, our buddies (hate that word) The Knolly Moles will be rappin’-and-rollin’ at Olde Towne Tavern on Saturday night, Jason Ager and Signs Point East are going to invade Cafe Nola, a folk song circle will be had, Freddie Long will head over to the Blue Sky Bar with his band, and there is something called Sticktime. Who knows what it is, but it sure does sound amazing. Also of note: If you’re in the mood for more something more visual, the always-fantastic 72 Film Fest is going down all weekend, so head over to the Weinberg to check it out.
