Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, what a long week. And now we find ourselves at Thursday, Weekend Playlist Day. And who doesn’t love Weekend Playlist Day? WHO?! Anyway, there’s a lot of stuff going down over the next three days, led by the side project of some of the great dudes in Seaknuckle and Old Indian tonight (tonight!) at Cafe Nola. They’ll be on the bill with Myles Coyne and Ladders and you cannot miss it. Also tonight, buzzy buzzer Parker Millsap will take the Weinberg stage, and if you happen to be someone who cares about “what’s next,” as the children like to say, you might want to investigate further into that. Elsewhere, we have another First Thursday with the fabulous Chelsea McBee over in Shepherdstown at The Opera House. We also have a pretty funk-a-del-ic radically radical event going down at Cafe 611 that will feature Moogatu and The Mantras tomorrow night. And just in case you need another dose of funk to get through Funkday (see what we did there?!), Jack Funk is going to rap-and-roll all over Cafe Nola, too. Freddie Long will bring his band to Blue Sky. There will be a folk song circle. Naturally. And very, very sadly, Jekyll & Hyde will close its doors on Sunday for good. So for those looking to get one last Jazz Jam in … well, the chance awaits you. Come for the Garden State Radio. Stay for The Benderz. Thanksgiving is only three weeks from today, so go grab a turkey, head on out to hear some live music, and remind yourself that we’re getting into Official Scarf Season. Have fun!
