How about that weather?!? Sort of warm(ish). Snow melting(ish). Sun shining(ish). What a great way to begin a weekend of shows that you – yes, you! – really ought to consider as the next three days unfold. In addition to the normal crop of open mics this evening, we have a slew of great stuff going on down Friday and Saturday. The Knolly Moles, ye of Frederick Music Showcase fame, will be taking the stage at Guidos tomorrow night, and you most definitely will not want to miss that. The pop-country sounds of Donnie Wood are heading to the Blue Sky because the Blue Sky be Blue Sky-in’. Nobody knows what that means. You can pick up some alligator meat while you check out Trix and Black at The Lodge. One of the more prestigious local names around, Ms. Adrienne Smith, will be folkin’ it up at Cafe Nola. Speaking of Nola, there appears to be a Baltimore invasion going down there on Saturday night, so that promises to be fun. Freddie Long will be around. The Averist and the greatness of their metal friends will be smashing faces at Cafe 611. A former “Voice” contestant will be at The Cellar Door (you can check him out above). And, of course, Hey Baby! No, but really: Hey Baby! Come for the bluegrass, stay for the Jack Z. We have less than a month until we invade the Weinberg. You already have a ticket, right? Right. We hope to unveil a new set of videos for one of the showcase’s artists on Monday. Who will it be? You’ll have to check back to see what’s up. For now, embrace the impending three days, adjust your weekend plans accordingly, and say hello to someone randomly. Why? Because that’s weird. And who doesn’t love weird? Viva la Thursday!
