Check it out, friends. A quick post on a quick Monday morning. With the lineup now official, we can confirm the following: Old Indian will be hosting a vinyl release party next month!
The date? Saturday, April 4.
The time? 8 p.m.
The cost: $5
The place? The Faux School here in Frederick.
And now for some details. There will be art displays from Mark Burrier and Ben Gartrell, which will of course be amazing. The record that Old Indian will be releasing, “Mumble,” has been out digitally for a little more than a month now, but the vinyl? Oh, check out this deal: 15 smackers will get you a download card, the record and … wait for it … a beer koozie! And you know we know something about beer koozies! OK. That’s two too many exclamation points.
Anyway, you probably want to know the lineup, then, right? Right. In addition to Old Indian and Heavy Lights, two of the bands you may have seen at our Showcase last month, the great Time Columns (featuring the great Kenny Eaton of Mystery Ton Studios) will be blowing your minds, and Shippensburg’s Wish List plans to take you through their blend of power-pop-surf-punk (as described by Cory from Old Indian). On Mayfly Records, those guys also have a brand new record out, and it’s got a pretty great title: “When The Stars Align Just To Piss You Off.”
“The show is going to be sweet!” Cory wrote us recently. “We’re excited to have it and this venue is a really great space.”
Now, would you really expect anything less? Duh.
Check back here for more on the event as we get closer. We’ll be there, high-fivin’ and hootin’ and hollerin’ with all the pretty Frederick faces. Won’t you join us?
