Boy, it’s hot. A perfect day for Alive @ Five, right? Right. So tonight, around 5 p.m., head on down to the creek and check out Fuzzy Match (above) funk-in it up under the sun. You know you want to. Elsewhere this weekend, we have the much-anticipated Lettuce Jam in Middletown at the Gude Farm. Tons of great things are set to go down there, especially with Southern Charm, who we spoke to earlier this week. Speaking of this week, you’re going to come to the Seaknuckle record release show at the old News-Post building next month, right? Just checking. Anyway, The Furr, they who interviewed themselves for a Q&A, will be rocking and rolling with the fine young lads in Old Indian at Cafe Nola tomorrow night. Also of note this weekend: Blind Man Leading, a name we haven’t seen in forever and a day, will be hanging out at Big Cork Vineyards, and if we weren’t so busy, we’d be super interested in seeing how they’re doing these days. There’s some bluegrass. There are prog-rock legends (or at least, so we are told) OHO doing what they do at Elk Run. Dis-Funk-Shun is always a fun name to type. Laura Mae Socks And Her Baked Goods wins the award for best band name of the week, and she will be at The Opera House in Shepherdstown tomorrow night as well (the same day as The Local Playlist, a show you’ll be listening to online? Maybe? Hopefully? Hey – we gave away free tickets twice last week!). We have the Blues Vultures. We have Mountain Air. We have Klepto Radio. We have Dough Boy And Diddy Summer Jam. And, of course, we have Too Much Trouble Band. Summer is kicking into its fullest effect, friends. Don’t sit around – the world needs you out there. Listening. Loving. Learning. We’ll be back next week to give away some Flying Dog tickets. So … meet back here Monday morning? Sounds like a plan.
