And here we are again … Thursday! And here we are again … Movie Nights On The Creek! And here we are again … 200 East! It’s going to be a busy weekend for us, over here at Frederick Playlist. In addition to May Weather (above) performing tonight at Alive@Five, this year’s Movie Night On The Creek schedule kicks off tomorrow evening. Just like last year, we’ll be providing the music before the big screen is blown up and the blankets are spread on the lawn. It’s free. All you have to do is be 21 years old. Or older, of course. First up this week is Nick and Dan from Jack Funk playing an acoustic set before “Jurassic Park” scares us all to shreds. We’ll be there, talking to anyone who wants to talk (which, all things considered, might just be a desolate tree; the joke being no one wants to talk to us), and perhaps giving away a free beer koozie or two. Then, on Saturday, the next event at the 200 East Arthaus (look, it’s German now!) will go down as Monocacy Brewing holds its annual cornhole tournament in the building. We’ll be providing the music for that, too, which will feature Willie And His Chaperones, as well as the great Todd C. Walker. There will be prizes galore. And darts. And a candy machine. So … who doesn’t want to check that out? Elsewhere, Biohazard is going to burn your body to the ground at Cafe 611 tonight, so you should really check out what it’s like to have your body burned to the ground. Seriously, though: That should be a fun show. There’s Craggy Island. Bumper Jacksons are releasing their CD over in Shepherdstown tomorrow night (and we did a Q&A with them once!). Our dear friend Doug Alan Wilcox will be at a winery. A ukulele jam will commence. Cafe Nola has some great artists, as always. Grand Ole Ditch will be at The Blue Side and we still need to check that place out. And then Teamster. And then Brother Down. And then The Few. And then Vitality. And then, of course, Hey Baby!. So … hey baby! you. Yes, you. Come say hi if you see us mulling about, doing inane things and talking to trees. A lot of fun stuff is happening this weekend. Dive in, friends. August is almost here!
