All right, all right, all right, all right. The weekend is just about here and our second full-fledged concert at the 200 East Art Haus will be staged Saturday night. As you’ve seen all week via videos (the above one is our favorite), Giraffes? Giraffes!, Time Columns and Kabob-O-Taj are going to take our tiny stage starting at 8 p.m. Saturday night. Earlier in the day – pretty much all afternoon – the finals of our Best Of The Best battle of the bands competition will go down. That part of the day? It’s free! And there’s no better cost than free. We all know that. And yet … that’s not all, when it comes to downtown music here in beautiful Frederick, Maryland, this weekend. Tomorrow night, we will present Big Hoax for the masses as part of the music during the Downtown Frederick Partnership’s Movie Night On The Creek. That, too, is free (yay!), and you have to be 21 or older to get in. The movie Big Hoax is opening for? “Slumdog Millionaire.” Elsewhere, Alive @ Five appears to still be happening this evening with DAPP. There are a couple jam sessions and open mics tonight. There’s a Beatles night, and if you tell us that doesn’t sound fun, we’re going to tell you that you’re a liar. ilyAIMY will be back at Cafe Nola tomorrow night. At the same place Saturday night, The New Ponies will perform, and wouldn’t it be nice to check out what we have going on and then head downtown to keep the night raging? If you agree, The New Ponies are definitely worth your time. Vixen (remember them?!?!?) will be at Champion and if you’re a dude who still puts hairspray in your hair, that show might be your best bet. Angela Easterling will be in Mount Airy Saturday afternoon, and we spoke with her earlier this week. And then, of course, Kidstock! And who doesn’t love Kidstock? It’s going to be a crowded, busy, monstrous weekend of event-ing here in Frederick. Hopefully, you’ll come check it out. Pretty please? Viva la Art Haus!
