Well. Goodbye, September. Yep. Indeed, this is, somewhat surprisingly, the final weekend of September. We’ll be operating on a short week next week (expect a Weekend Playlist to be published on Wednesday), but the dates we’ll be listing will all be for October. Can you believe it? We can’t. Especially considering how we are about 15 or 16 days away from the first-ever Frederick Fall Fest. Umpf, we have so much to roll out in the next two weeks and we promise it will be fun. Again. Promise. But for now, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. The next three days feature the final weekend of The Great Frederick Fair with all types of country concerts that you can check out below. Big names. Big times. It should also be noted that there are a few shows at building 13 at the fair, for those who might not have the dough to get into the grandstand. You’re welcome. We also have a Grammy-nominated artist set to appear at the Frederick Coffee Company (can you guess which one it is?). The final week for Music On The Terrace is upon us, too, and the Patty Reese Band (above) will close that series out tomorrow morning at 11:30 a.m. There’s also something called the “Memoirs Of A Hip Ole’ Black Man,” which will be taking place over in Shepherdstown tomorrow night. The usual slew of open mics will go down this evening, so if you have an instrument and/or a voice (or, for that matter, if a voice is your instrument), try to head on out and show the world what you got. There’s Anita Thomas. There’s a ukulele jam, which always sounds appealing. There’s Back By Sunrise. There’s Muskrat Sally. There’s Todd C. Walker. There’s DJ Two Teks (who will also be at our fall fest in two weeks!). There’s Starcrush. There’s Hymn For Her. There’s Broken Rocker. There’s Monkey Clapp. And then, of course, there’s Strangled Darlings. It’s the first official weekend of the fall, so be sure to play with some leaves (people do that, right?). We’ll be back next week with some Q&As, some videos, some photos and perhaps some super-intriguing goodies. It’s about to be hoodie time ’round these parts. Bundle up, friends. Month Number 10 is nearly here.
