We’re going to be on the road tomorrow, so we figured this: What better way to end a short week than to post the Weekend Playlist a day earlier? The answer? There is no better way. Especially considering how New Riders Of The Purple Sage will be performing at The Opera House over in Shepherdstown tonight (plus, hey: You can stream it online!). Also this weekend: It’s a First Saturday! So, expect all the requisite First Saturday-ness such an event brings. Elsewhere, Ted’s Funk Jam will be funking things up at Isabella’s tomorrow night and because “Ted’s Funk Jam” seems like a great name, you should keep that option in mind. Speaking of the funk, Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band, who we spoke with earlier this week, will be over at The Opera House Saturday night, and we all know you want to live that Funk Life. We all also know that you want to help out the Baltimore Folk Fest, too! Anyway. There are also two pretty great festivals happening Saturday – Oktoberfest at the fairgrounds and a shindig at Milkhouse Farm Brewery featuring Katie Powderly and Big Hoax, among others. Plus, the Weinberg kicks off its always-great pay-as-you-go series with Gedeon Luke (above) tomorrow night, and we’re super excited about that. There’s some Dance Manifesto. There’s some Forever 27. There’s some June Star. There’s some Ten Feet Tall. There’s some Rew Smith. There’s some Craggy Island. And then, of course, there’s some Vinyl Rhino. Next week is the Big Week. Or, in other words, the Frederick Fall Festival, which you can bet your booty we’ll be blabbing about all day, every day. A little more than one week left to grab your ticket, friends.
