Well, so this is fun. We recently received an email from the great Jordan Miller (of Time Columns fame) about his other project right now, The Lost Keys. And because Frederick Playlist strives to be of the people and for the people … well, we thought we’d try to help spread the word about a neat event he’s spearheading downtown.
Wednesday nights – what do you think? They mark the middle of the week. People associate the word “hump” with the day. And, as we outlined months ago, we couldn’t find a single open mic on Wednesdays around this town to save our lives. But, after much searching (and, obviously, an email from Jordan), we have now officially found a way to fight those midweek blues.
Bear, Bacon and Bourbon Night.
It’s at The Cellar Door and it is exactly what it sounds like. There is going to be discounted beer, bourbon, and, of course, flavored bacon. Also, and more importantly (this isn’t called Frederick Bacon, now is it?), The Lost Keys, who we questioned-and-answered last month, will perform each Wednesday from 9 p.m. to midnight. The best part? There’s no cover.
The first such event was held last Wednesday and yes, the next one is slated to go down tonight. As Jordan said to us, “We’re trying to make Wednesdays over there into a happenin’ thing!” Indeed, he even included the exclamation point.
So, head on down and support some local music by checking these guys out. It costs you nothing and it involves cheap prices for bourbon. Like, honestly: What more could you want?
