Weeee’rrrrrreeee back!
That’s right. Last year, around this time, we announced the first-ever Frederick Music Showcase at the Weinberg Center for the Arts. What’s the Frederick Music Showcase at the Weinberg Center for the Arts? Well, it’s simple: Four local, original bands. Ten bucks. The Weinberg stage.
See. Like we said. Simple.
And can you believe this?!?!? The lovely, lovely people at the Weinberg are allowing us to do it again! Amazing, right? Right.
So, here we stand, on the first Monday of January, ready to kick off 2016 with a bing, bang and boom. This year’s date for the event will be … you ready for it? … are you sure? …
… Thursday, February 18, 2016!
The time?
7 p.m.
The lineup?
Ahhhh, well, you’re going to have to wait for that. Until when? Well, until the end of the week. And what does that mean? Well, it means this:
Friday night, the fabulous fellas in Joint Effort are going to reunite at Cafe Nola while this crazy-good new(ish) band SoulXchange is going to take the Nola stage (read: music space) before them. Us? We’re going to be there, with some of the Showcase’s artists in tow, announcing the lineup, passing out flyers you’ll inevitably throw away, and dishing all the dirt on this year’s installment.
That’s right, friends. It’s a bona fide announcement party!
So, for now, sit tight, reminisce on the memories made last year with Old Indian, Heavy Lights, The Knolly Moles and Hard Swimmin’ Fish, and save the date for 2016’s extravaganza at the Weinberg we’re creatively calling The Frederick Music Showcase Volume 2. Get it? Got it? Good.
All right, then. So … see you at Nola on Friday?
