Freddie Long Band. 10 bucks. 7 p.m. Is there really anything more we can say? Memories. Performances. Podcast. Details. Need we say more? Probably not. That in mind … well, let’s get to what else is happening this weekend. Our good friends in Heavy Lights will open their monthlong residency at Cafe Nola tomorrow night, and we hope to have more on that as the weeks progress (also of note: Ryan will join me in studio for tomorrow’s Local Playlist to talk a bit about it – tune in!). Future Sound, who will also be owning a night at Cafe Nola, from what we understand, will be electronic-in’ your socks off this evening. And to round Nola out, don’t forget about The Receiver, who we spoke with earlier this week. You won’t want to miss that. Elsewhere, there appears to be a neat thing going down at Frederick Coffee Company on Saturday with members of Cheshi and Middle Kid. Davisson Brothers (in addition to misspelling “Davidson”) will be at Champion Billiards, and they are big deal … right? Right?! There’s Donegal X-Press. There’s Triple Lindy. There’s Guys In Thin Ties. There’s Go Slow. There’s 10 Step Groove. There’s … oh, who are we kidding. Please come check out these amazing artists tonight at the Weinberg. They all deserve your attention, your love, your support. Plus, well, there’s the whole “history will be made with hip-hop” thing that we’ve noted before. Anyway.
