We’ve done this before, and it’s always such a pleasure to do so. First, with Kabob-O-Taj, then with Seaknuckle, and now with Big Hoax. Check out the band’s latest clip for their brand new track, “Old Maid.” The group, headed by Luke Alexander, is fixin’ to release their first-ever full-length on June 25, complete with all the requisite release party shenanigans at Metro Gallery in Baltimore. As for the video itself, well, take it away, Luke …
“The video was filmed in a reclaimed church saved from demolition in the town of Oxford, on Maryland’s Eastern Shore,” he told us. “The video proudly features legendary bluegrass bassist Mark Schatz (Nickel Creek, Bela Fleck, Tony Rice, Sierra Hull), who also plays on two of the album’s tracks. We’ve been working on the record for more than a year now without any breaks or pauses. It was tracked with the help of Shea Springer at Sweetfoot Studios on the Eastern Shore. It’s currently being mixed by two-time Grammy Award-winning studio Airshow Mastering in Takoma Park. It’s a 13-song concept album narrating character change when going from pursuing one’s desires to the pursuit of someone else’s. We haven’t named it yet, and as the album finishes and develops, we’re hoping the name will find itself.”
