Well. So. Saturday. Skate Jam. Awesomeness. Fun. Skating. Food. Music. Awesomeness. And, of course, Jam. Whatever that means.
How about some details, eh? The music kicks off at 2 p.m. The cost is $5 if you bring a skateboard and $10 if you just want to rock and roll. The fine human beings at Pitcrew are going to offer a pop-up skate park (which is why you get a discount if you bring a board … duherr). Word on the street is that there will be a best trick contest for Those Who Bring Skateboards. A prize, however, is still being worked out. Because, honestly: What’s a contest without a prize?
All of that fun will be taking place in the 200 East Art Haus parking lot. So, what’s happening inside the building? Glad you asked. There’s going to be live art going down by the great Goodloe Byron. The Potters Guild is also going to offer up some live art, and that’s going to be “throwing clay.” If anyone can tell us what “throwing clay” means, we would be thrilled.
Also of note: Sabor de Cuba will be selling food. And that sounds good.

Now to some more fun. The fine young men in Marzy Maddox will be taking the Frederick Playlist car wash tomorrow (that’s Friday, for those who get angry easily). What does that mean? Well, it means they are going to join us in studio during The Local Playlist on 89.7 WSHC over in Shepherdstown. They’ll be in studio, answering questions, performing some acoustic songs and smiling (presumably). That begins at 1 p.m. and you can listen on the World Wide Internet here.
Oh, but that’s not all. After we finish in Shepherdstown, we’ll be coming back to the super secret Frederick Playlist headquarters and we’re going to record a Frederick Playlist Presents … session with the band. Why do you care? Well, it turns out, you’ll be able to watch the performance, live and in color, on the Frederick News-Post’s Facebook page. That’s right: Live stream! Live stream!
