Well, it’s going to be a special night for the fine lads in Heavy Lights on Friday, so we figured it might be a good idea to use this performance of “The Best Selling Show” to lead this edition of The Weekend Playlist. And speaking of this edition of The Weekend Playlist … welp. There’s a whole lot of a whole lot going down. Tonight, not only will Freddie Long and his band take over the Alive @ Five stage, but chances are mighty good that the 75,000th person in the history of the series will cross the gate to win a lifetime pass to said series. It could be you. Or you. Or you. Or you. Also tonight, out at Champion Billiards, is a battle of the bands that promises to not disappoint. A whole bunch of Important Institutions from this area will be represented and … well, who doesn’t love a good battle? Silent Old Mtns., along with The Milestones, are headed to Cafe Nola on Saturday night and everyone knows how fun that will be. There are about 5,290 acts scheduled to take the Cafe 611 stage Friday night. And Chelsea McBee, who we adore, is returning to her solo gig out there in Shepherdstown (where, it should be noted, The Local Playlist commences every Friday from 1 to 3 p.m.) at The Opera House within the next 72 hours.
