So, this is cool, friends. Tonight in the tap room at Flying Dog Brewery, a Thursday night concert/art/awesome series is going to kick off, and leading the way will be one, Mr. Luke Alexander (along with a few friends), performing for your entertainment. The fun starts at 6 p.m. and even better? It’s free. As in, all you have to do is come hang out. And that’s it. That’s the list. Also of note: We’ll be publishing our review for Big Hoax’s latest LP next week on this very website. Be on the lookout. Elsewhere this weekend … well, it’s a First Saturday, and that’s important, right? Right. Atomic Mosquitos, who helped us ring in the inaugural installment of The Thing last year, will be at Guido’s and they don’t play out all that much, so whenever you get the chance to see them perform … well, you know what to do. Samuel Powers will be at Cafe Nola and who doesn’t love Screech? Red Sammy, with all their Charming Trespassers, are coming to The Blue Side, and if you remember, we reviewed their latest album not all that long ago (here’s a hint: We liked it). Also at The Blue Side? Ginada Pinata, who were kind enough to offer up a Celebrity Playlist last month, and we’re super grateful for that. And then there’s 100 years of love songs. So … yeah. One hundred years is an awfully long time to be in love, you know. Stay warm this weekend. T-minus six weeks until the third installment of our Frederick Music Showcase.
