Ladies and gentlemen … Fractal Cat! They have a new record out and we’re going to be reviewing it awfully soon. Until then, though … well, you can check them out this weekend at Cafe Nola, live and in color! Yes. A lot of exclamation points here. A sad exclamation point goes out to Alive@Five because even though it’s the first week for such awesomeness … well, it’s raining. So, for Guys In Thin Ties, it is not to be. Or, well, this year, at least. Hopefully, it will be back up and running next week (and hopefully, fingers very crossed, there won’t be any rain at all next weekend). What will go on, rain or shine, is the Maryland Craft Beer Festival, and that’s set for Saturday afternoon. The people behind that little shindig are the best, and don’t you forget it. There are some open mics. There’s some Josh Morningstar. There’s some Ruthie & The Wranglers. There’s some One Blue Night, who will be performing next weekend as part of The Thing. And then, of course, there’s some In Dog Years I’m Dead. Which, naturally, is the leader in the clubhouse for Weekend Playlist band name of the year. Stay dry, friends. Nine days until The Thing 2. Get your tickets. Be hip to be square.
