Ladies and Gentlemen, the Tin Can Fish Band! They’ll be bluegrass-and-rollin’ in about two hours at Alive@Five. We know it’s hot, but that shouldn’t stop you from grabbing a cold, cold drink, taking a seat, and enjoying some live music as the week winds down. It will be better than fun. Funner than better. You get it. Elsewhere this weekend, Luna & The Lost Keys will be ripping up Cafe Nola Friday night (side: When was the last time you heard/read the phrase, “ripping it up?!”). There’s also a band at the same venue Saturday night, but we probably shouldn’t talk about them. Skribe is at Flying Dog tonight, and he’s a buncha fun. CassiRaye, who played Goddess Jam last year and who we adore, is releasing a new album at The Opera House over in Shepherdstown on Saturday. There’s Wally Worsley, who also has some new music. There’s Ruthie & The Wranglers. There’s California Bob. There are a bunch of open mics. And then there’s Heavy Traffic Ahead (get it?!). Try and stay cool this weekend, friends. As Rob Thomas once said, it’s a hot one. We’ll be sporadic for the next couple weeks ’round these parts. Just a heads up. Have some fun. Get up. Get out. Do something.
