Why would we post a video of “Nick Ring & Friends” when “Nick Ring & Friends” is not listed below? Well, there are a couple answers for that. One, Nick reached out to us a couple weeks ago, getting us hip to his brand new song (released on the Fourth of July). Second, while “Nick Ring & Friends” is not listed below, “Jack Funk” is, and that happens to be the band he fronts. And third, Jack Funk is going to plug in at Olde Towne this weekend with Austin Litz, who, serendipitously, is also a musician you can hear play on the above song. Got all that? Good. Rock it. Roll it. As for other things going down this weekend … well, Alive @ Five is off tonight, so that, indeed, is sad. Tomato Dodgers, who we questioned-and-answered this week, will be on, and that commences Saturday night. Don’t sleep on that. Also Saturday, this band will be playing downtown with Bitcoin in preparation for their imminent world tour. Jack Dunlap will be at The Blue Side on Friday. Bittersweet will bring the bitter and the sweet to Frederick Coffee Company on Saturday. And then there’s Brickyard Road, laying bricks near and far. It’s a First Saturday, friends. You know that means it will be an 11 on the Fun Meter. Give someone a hug. Do something nice. Make someone smile. All good things, right? Right.
