And what better way to finish off the summer than to watch a little bit of Atomic 26? We reviewed their EP earlier this year, and as it turns out, they’ll be performing for your entertainment on Saturday at Cafe 611 in lovely Frederick, Maryland. They are part of a long, long list of artists slated to perform, and if there’s nothing else going on … well, why not spend a day filled with music? Really. Why? Not? Elsewhere this weekend … well, it’s a First Saturday, so expect all the requisite shenanigans that such a touchstone brings. Alive @ Five appears to still be a thing, despite a gray(ish) looking sky, so expect Israel Creek to folk-rock that all night long. Freddie Long, who appeared at our second Frederick Music Showcase, will be returning to Bushwaller’s and that’s always a fun time for those involved. There are The Wharf Rats. There is Chris Smaha. There is Mountain Ride. There is Phantom Hourglass. There is David Morealle. And, naturally, of course, there is Foghound. Not to be confused with Foghat. And hey: Don’t forget that we released a Frederick One Take this week! Anyway, someone once said that the summer isn’t over around this time of year, and maybe the calendar agrees, but it sure does feel like it, doesn’t it? So … viva la college football!
