You know the drill. A little while ago, two fine young men, Kenny Eaton and Jordan Miller, approached us with an idea for a partnership: Bring bands into Kenny’s Mystery Ton Studios, ask them to record a song, sit them down for an interview, video everything, and release all of it to the masses. Manning the cameras, of course, would be Jordan, along with his Gypsy Cab crew, and we would call the thing “Frederick One Take.”
Now, you remember our debut episode, right? And then our second episode, no? The former featured Cheshi and those human beings are awesome human beings. They performed. We spoke. It was fabulous. The latter featured Mr. Husband and those human beings are awesome human beings, too. They performed. We spoke. It was fabulous.
Well, now? Now, it’s time for episode 3! Cue the high fives.
Retro/Ricole Barnes, if you remember, was the first hip-hop artist to perform at the Weinberg Center in downtown Frederick, and that performance was part of our Frederick Music Showcase Vol. 2. When he took the Weinberg stage, he was backed by his band, DaMood. And DaMood, as it goes, recently released some new music. Of that aforementioned new music is the song “Make A Wave,” of which you can see a performance above. In addition to that song, we also sat for an interview, which you can see below, and within that interview, we talk about band members’ inspirations, how each of them maintains a friendship with one another, and what went into these brand new tunes.
