Whew. What whirlwind a first week of May, are we right?! And now, we have a weekend of music to accompany such a whirlwind first week of May. One of our favorites, Karen Jonas (above), will be coming to both Cafe Nola and Brewer’s Alley this weekend. That, you might have already known. What you didn’t know, however, is that she’s scheduled to come into our super secret Frederick Playlist offices tomorrow, too, to tape a brand new Frederick Playlist Presents … . And this may or may not include a live stream of the performance starting at about 5 p.m. Stay tuned. Yes. We can hardly contain ourselves. Like, hardly. Elsewhere, the fine lads in Seaknuckle and Rozwell Kid will be rocking and rolling over in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, and, for those who might care (one can always hope!) members of the former will be joining the guy typing these words in studio as part of The Local Playlist on WSHC. We kick things off at 1 p.m. You’ll be listening online, right? I mean, it’s not like they’re premiering a brand new song or anything. Oh, wait. They are! Anyway, we also have an open bluegrass jam this evening at Beans In The Belfry. There are Prophets Of The Abstract Truth. There is Angela Kerley, who we wrote a little about this week. There is Dapp. There is our good, dear, old friend Todd C. Walker. There is The Rock Tenor. There is Stephen Lee. There is Nick Ian and his Machine. And then, of course, we have Consumed With Hatred (our new favorite band name). This will be the final Thursday in a while that there won’t be an Alive @ Five taking over the creek downtown on a Thursday. Spring is here, friends. Feel it. Live it. Love it.
