Whew. It’s almost 60 degrees out! Christmas … what?!?! Anyway, after a couple weeks away, we’re back with the Weekend Playlist. Yes. We know nobody missed it. Anyway. This is a pretty happening weekend in and around Frederick, all things told. Not only is Kris Kringle coming around (and “The Nutcracker” is taking over the Weinberg), but we have the usual slew of open mics going on tonight. Our good friends in Time Columns and Seaknuckle are invading Cafe Nola Saturday night and you will have to see that. Also of note at Nola this weekend: Dapp and SoulXchange. We’ve been hearing a lot of great things about SoulXchange and we’re eager to check them out. Will it be this weekend? We shall see. Also, Hard Swimmin’ Fish, who we adore, and who you can see above, are coming back to JoJo’s. The Brokedown Hustlers lead a great weekend of music at The Blue Side, which, for what it’s worth, has the best chicken tenders in Maryland. And, of course, Cafe 611 will be rocking and rolling Saturday night, which is always great to see. We’ll be a little spotty next week, but look for an announcement of sorts involving next year.
