It’s a beautiful day, and those have been hard to come by ’round these parts. Thus, behold the video for Elikeh’s “No Vision.” Why? Because these fine musicians are set to take the Alive @ Five stage. And creatively, those festivities are going to kick off at 5 p.m. right on down by the creek. So much fun. So much sun. Elsewhere this weekend … well, it’s a First Saturday and it’s the Festival of the Arts. So be prepared for the downtown to be busy on top of busy on top of busy. Donnie Wood, for whom we have a great deal of love, will be at something called O’Connell’s, so get hip. Soul Exchange, who’s pretty darn great, will be taking the Cafe Nola stage. The Get Right Band, whose latest album we raved about last year, are coming to The Blue Side. So go get right. There’s some bluegrass. There’s some Chrome Tears. There’s a bunch of Flatfoot Sam. There are some open mics. And, of course, we have the Drunk, the Naked, the Pirates. Enjoy the first weekend of June, friends. Goodbye, spring.
