It’s Fall Fest week! It’s Fall Fest week! We know the above map has been floating around on the various social media tools this Brave New World offers, but we have yet to make it our Photo Of The Day. So, in order to gear up for this weekend, check out an overhead illustration of what the whole shebang will look like. Tickets are still on sale, remember. Old Indian. Heavy Lights. Seaknuckle. J Roddy Walston & The Business. A free CD comes with the ticket. History – yes, history! – will be made. You won’t want to miss it. Honestly. You won’t.

Well, this is fun. Check out a photo of Evan from Old Indian, with his mean face, drumming the night away. This shot was taken during a video shoot for something we’ll be rolling out next week in anticipation of our Frederick Fall Festival. As you might be able to tell, it was also taken in Old Indian’s practice space, where the super secret video may or may not have been filmed. Either way, don’t forget tickets are still on sale! You won’t want to miss it. Photo by Chris Sands. He’s the best Chris Sands in the world and you can follow him on Instagram here.
Check out this neat video of Bumper Jacksons performing “I’ve Got My Whiskey (I Don’t Need You)” for the Garage Video Sessions, which, as it turns out, seems to be a fairly cool series. We post this why? To bring attention, one more time, to our Q&A with the Baltimore Folk Fest people that we ran yesterday. Bumper Jacksons will be performing as part of the event in a few weeks and the event needs your help raising funds to make sure everything goes off without a hitch. So … help them! Duh. Anyway. Happy Rainy Tuesday!
Another year. Another Great Frederick Fair. Things wrapped up this weekend with the final music performance from Josh Turner on the Grandstand stage. And … well … this is a pretty fun photo, so why not share it? Duh. We’ll be back in a bit with a Q&A that you might just want to check out. Photo by Sam Yu.
Outside of this being a really, really great name for a band, these guys are going to be at Cafe Nola tomorrow night. Or, well, Friday night, if you fancy. And because this will be the final weekend of September … well, you really ought to consider making something of it. For now, though, listen to this and adjust your Friday night accordingly.
Here’s a shot of Retro/Ricole Barnes performing at our Block Party earlier this month. Boy, he’s great, isn’t he? Much like yesterday, when we posted a video of The Milestones performing at the 200 East Art Haus, we figure this would be as good a time as any to remind you that we are only 17 days away from the Frederick Fall Fest. We have some goodies lined up to share with you in the next couple weeks regarding it. On a scale of 1 to 10, how excited are you? We’re at about a 50 million. Photo by Chris Sands. Hey, have you checked out our YouTube channel lately? We don’t talk about it much, but we occasionally upload a video or three in the darkness of the night and the videos chronicle some of the shenanigans we see going on in and around Frederick. Most recently, we posted the above video of The Milestones performing at the 200 East Art Haus here in town as part of our Block Party. Our next event is our biggest (and last for the year). October 10. J Roddy Walston & The Business. Heavy Lights. Old Indian. Seaknuckle. You have your ticket already, right?
For those who haven’t already noticed, the fair is in full force. The music kicked off last night with the one and only Dwight Yoakam. From what we understand, he was a little prickly when it came to taking photos, but hey: If he’s mad that we’re posting it here, he can contact us at 1-800-dnt-care. Next up for fair music? The Roots & Boots Tour on Thursday. It will feature Aaron Tippin, Sammy Kershaw and Joe Diffie. You’re welcome. Photo by Bill Green. Hey, did you know there’s a pretty big-deal country concert going on tonight along the creek? That’s right. Even though the official Alive@Five slate is done for the year, there’s one more event and it happens this evening. It’s called, creatively, Country Live On The Creek. It features the Brothers Osborne. Who are they? Well, duh. They’ve been touring with Darius Rucker and they are also about ready to go out with John Pardi. As we said: Big deal. Tickets are five bucks. It’s going to a beautiful night. What are you waiting for?
Well, this is fun. Check out Goodloe Byron working last night on some art to put in the windows at the 200 East Art Haus. What’s the art for? You guessed it: The Frederick Fall Fest, which is, in case you forgot, less than a month away now. You’ve got your ticket already, right? Photo by Chris Sands.
