We thought we’d look back at Saturday’s FUNomenon for a middle-of-the-week photo (hey, if nothing else, it reminds you that the next Saturday is only three days away!). So … well … here’s a shot of country music superstar Trace Adkins performing at the fairgrounds last weekend. You really ought to check out what the event is all about and make a tiny donation, if you can, even though the event itself has come and gone. To learn more about how to do that, click here. Photo by Graham Cullen. He’s amazing on all of our video work, and you can follow him on Twitter here.

It’s the first Tuesday all summer that we won’t have music tonight (for free!) tonight along Carroll Creek. So, this is our sad face. To commemorate the good times, though, we thought we’d share this video we shot of the final Levitt Amp performance, which featured Hard Swimmin’ Fish, one week ago tonight. The crowd was amazing. The band was great. A fantastic time was had by all. We miss you, Levitt Amp. Please come back next year.
We’re going to start the week with this photo of 3:AM performing as part of the final Movie Night On The Creek on Friday. They opened for “Interstellar” (and, well, the mayor) and a great time was had by all. We’d like to thank the Downtown Frederick Partnership for asking us to be involved booking the music for this summer’s run and, of course, we’d also like to thank Matt Traks, Seaknuckle, Todd C. Walker, Jack Funk and Big Hoax. See you back at the creek for some movies and music next year? Let’s hope so.
Saturday night. Big Cork Vineyard. Jeff Cosgrove is going to headline our first installment of Jazz In The Vines. He’ll be with his trio featuring Brad Linde on saxophone and Mark Lysher on bass. Here, they perform Paul Motian’s “Victoria” as part of the WAU Jazz Festival. The night kicks off at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20, but that gets you a glass of any wine you want. Bring a picnic. Bring the love. We’ll bring the jazz. You in?
Well now this is fun. We wrapped up the Levitt Amp free concert series last night along the creek with Hard Swimmin’ Fish and it was a grand ol’ time. This photo here pretty much sums it up better than any words could. A huge thanks to the Downtown Frederick Partnership for spearheading the series and even more so to Levitt Amp, who thought Frederick was one of the 10 best cities in all the universe. Can we pull off the win again next year? Only time will tell, but don’t forget to vote when the time comes! Photo by Bill Green. He’s got the greatest voice in the world and you can follow him on Twitter here.
We thought it’d be a good idea to share this Frederick Playlist Presents … performance of Hard Swimmin’ Fish’s “Ain’t It Hard” on this fine day. Why? Because these guys are performing tonight as part of the Levitt Amp free concert series along the creek. Thing is … this is the final Tuesday of the series! Wow, that went fast, didn’t it? So, what better way to put a cap on the summer than to stroll on down to the creek and check out these guys for free? The fun begins at 7 p.m. We’ll see you there.
Let’s start the week with this shot of Freddie Long (and the always-fun Sweet B) from our Best Of The Best Fest last weekend. Why post this? Because it’s worth noting that the voting for the battle of the bands is now officially closed. Winners, for reasons that go beyond logical comprehension, won’t be announced until September 30. Hey. Don’t shoot the messenger. In any case, thanks for stopping by to play some tunes, Freddie! Killer horn section.
Oh, what a beautiful Thursday morning! It’s supposed to stay sunny and kind throughout today, which can only mean one thing: Alive@Five is all systems go! Tonight, you’ll find Matt Bednarsky taking the stage along Carroll Creek at 5 p.m. It’s with that in mind that we present this official clip for his “I’ll Find A Reason.” There really isn’t much of a better way to kick off an August weekend, is there?
Well, that guy in the orange shirt looks awfully happy. Check out this photo from Saturday’s Best Of The Best Fest as some dudes (Sticktime) play some music and other dudes (and dudettes) dance. There’s still time to vote for your favorite, remember. You wouldn’t want to not have your voice heard, right? Photo by Sam Yu.
Today’s video features Todd Marcus, why? That’s right: Because he’s the next installment of the Levitt Amp free concert series down by the creek tonight. He’ll be bringing his orchestra and releasing a CD all in Frederick! That’s excitement. The fun kicks off at 7 p.m. and it’s all ages. Some of us have to meet with George P. Levitt, or Mike C. Amp, or whomever shows up from Levitt Amp later today, but that’s neither here nor there. So, instead of reading more babble from us, listen to this amazingness and adjust your Tuesday night accordingly.
