Oh, wow, then. We sure do have a weekend in front of us, now don’t we? It all kicks off tonight with the year’s second installment of Alive @ Five, which is set to feature local country music act Southern Charm. It’s five o’ clock and it’s five bucks. What more could you want? From there, goodness gracious. The next event at the 200 East Art Haus will go down, as we outlined earlier today, when Karen Jonas, Tom Senseney and The Knight Brothers (above) take the stage after a cornhole tournament commences inside. There are prizes and the prizes are good. Strike that. They’re great! Also this weekend, Artomatic continues with New God and Middle Kid Friday night and Old Indian, ye who will be headlining The Thing in a few weeks, on Saturday night. Ginada Pinata, who we questioned and answered earlier this week, are coming to The Blue Side as well, and that promises to be radical. And Cafe 611 appears to have approximately 4,029 acts coming through its doors over the next two days, so don’t discount that. And if you get to Sunday and you’re still looking for some music to help wind down the weekend, don’t forget about our Jazz In The Vines series out at Big Cork Vineyards, which kicks off at 2 p.m. Oh. And The Preakness. We’ll be shutting things down next week, stepping away from the Frederick Playlist grind (we’ll miss you more, promise) if only for a few days. So, until after Memorial Day, be safe and be good, friends. Why? Because Gregory Porter said so.
