There’s a reason we’re posting this as today’s photo. You’ll see in a few hours what that reason is. Here’s a clue: It rhymes with Schmall Schmest Schmideo. You’ll want to see what we mean. Photo by Chris Sands. He’s the best Chris Sands in the world and you can follow him on Instagram here.
Photo Of The Day
Let’s give the drummer(s) some! If memory serves, we did this last year, too. Check out a photo of the high school marching band showcase that went down last week (the fine people above are from Governor Thomas Johnson High School). We don’t discriminate ’round these Frederick Playlist parts – all music/musicians/artistry/awesomeness is welcome. Plus, this is a pretty neat photo. Photo by Graham Cullen. He’s amazing on all of our video work, and you can follow him on Twitter here.
This is one of our favorite photos from Saturday. Check out what went on behind that huge stack of speakers inside the 200 East Art Haus each time you walked in to shake your money-maker (what a great phrase that is). Also of note: This post is not brought to you by Pioneer, even if you think it might be. Photo by Chris Sands. He’s the best Chris Sands in the world and you can follow him on Instagram here.
Here’s The Great Goodloe Byron. This is a shot of him painting the signs currently in the window at the 200 East Art Haus. What do those signs promote? You guessed it: J Roddy Walston & The Business. Old Indian. Heavy Lights. Seaknuckle. Saturday. Doors are at four. Downtown Frederick will never be the same. Photo by Chris Sands. It’s Fall Fest week! It’s Fall Fest week! We know the above map has been floating around on the various social media tools this Brave New World offers, but we have yet to make it our Photo Of The Day. So, in order to gear up for this weekend, check out an overhead illustration of what the whole shebang will look like. Tickets are still on sale, remember. Old Indian. Heavy Lights. Seaknuckle. J Roddy Walston & The Business. A free CD comes with the ticket. History – yes, history! – will be made. You won’t want to miss it. Honestly. You won’t.
Well, this is fun. Check out a photo of Evan from Old Indian, with his mean face, drumming the night away. This shot was taken during a video shoot for something we’ll be rolling out next week in anticipation of our Frederick Fall Festival. As you might be able to tell, it was also taken in Old Indian’s practice space, where the super secret video may or may not have been filmed. Either way, don’t forget tickets are still on sale! You won’t want to miss it. Photo by Chris Sands. He’s the best Chris Sands in the world and you can follow him on Instagram here.
Another year. Another Great Frederick Fair. Things wrapped up this weekend with the final music performance from Josh Turner on the Grandstand stage. And … well … this is a pretty fun photo, so why not share it? Duh. We’ll be back in a bit with a Q&A that you might just want to check out. Photo by Sam Yu.
Here’s a shot of Retro/Ricole Barnes performing at our Block Party earlier this month. Boy, he’s great, isn’t he? Much like yesterday, when we posted a video of The Milestones performing at the 200 East Art Haus, we figure this would be as good a time as any to remind you that we are only 17 days away from the Frederick Fall Fest. We have some goodies lined up to share with you in the next couple weeks regarding it. On a scale of 1 to 10, how excited are you? We’re at about a 50 million. Photo by Chris Sands. For those who haven’t already noticed, the fair is in full force. The music kicked off last night with the one and only Dwight Yoakam. From what we understand, he was a little prickly when it came to taking photos, but hey: If he’s mad that we’re posting it here, he can contact us at 1-800-dnt-care. Next up for fair music? The Roots & Boots Tour on Thursday. It will feature Aaron Tippin, Sammy Kershaw and Joe Diffie. You’re welcome. Photo by Bill Green.
